Approximately 24 million Mexicans live on less than US $1 per day. That is equivalent to the entire state of Texas living in poverty. That is also equivalent to filling Coors Field 475 times.

In 2006, the CIA estimated four out of every 10 Mexicans live below the national poverty line.

Three out of every five children in Mexico live in poverty.

The Mexican government spends just US $1,202 per student per year.
In the United States, the government spends almost ten times as much per student.

In Puebla, seven out of every ten children report having been emotionally abused, and two out of five report physical abuse. Imagine how many aren't reporting the abuse they suffer. . .

Only six out of 10 children in Mexico complete primary school. Children are often forced to begin working at an early age to help increase the family income.
