Proven Results: JUCONI’s work is proven to have positive, lasting results. Through a 10-year tracking program established in 2001, JUCONI has been following the lives of their graduates to see what permanent changes, if any, their work has had on children's lives. The results are promising. While the street-involved children enter the program on average three-to-five years behind in schooling, they are finishing ahead of the Mexican national average. They are able to hold down steady jobs. They are starting their families later in life than their parents. They are putting their children in school; and, perhaps most importantly, they are creating families that model positive discipline and effective goal-setting skills. We are not seeing a repeat of the physical and emotional violence and drug and alcohol abuse that JUCONI saw when they first encountered the street-involved child and his or her family.
